the S14 Silvia front end conversion kit for the 96-00 Civic? I like it, but I it's a major change. I haven't seen any cars that have it yet (not even at HIN San Mateo this past weekend). The only thing I'd be afraid of is this conversion following the 'altezza' path, and getting to be too common of a conversion to do, because I hear a lot of talk about it. I love the look of the headlights though, that narrow, slitted look is such a turn on. :p :D
Anyways, I was just wondering what your guys' opinions were on it.
For $1750, from www.importtrenz.com, you get:

2 Fenders
1 Fiberglass Hood (carbon fiber upgrade avail. for $300)
1 Front bumper with integrated lip
1 pair S14 projector headlights
1 separate lip
1 Grill

And it looks like this:

wow looks nice.... i dont think you will need to worry about it going down the "path" because it cost alittle too much to be done by everyone....

Clever combination! :D I think it looks pretty good.

I don't know what to think

The first one kinda looks like an early 90's eclipse and the second looks like a 5th gen accord with a bodykit.

One thing with that, you'll definatly be different....for awhile anyways....

hehe
Yeah, they're both Civics. I think it's just that the second one (the silver one) has a wide body kit on it.
I'd just be afraid that I'd miss my 'Civic' if I went ahead and did the conversion.

I think it would be sweet though to have people staring at my car (more than they do now :p j/p ), and trying to figure out what the heck kind of car it is. :hehe:

I like the Silvia front end, but I don't think it looks right on the Civic. :bloated: Personally, I'd say go for an ITR front conversion, or if you want more subtle, then CTR front conversion (can't remember how much different that is from stock). For me, all I'm gonna do for my front is get me the Angel Eye projectors, and that's about it. Maybe a carbon fiber hood down the line, but I'm just not as much into wild anymore. But like everyone said, you'd definitely be a one of a kind for a long while to come with the S13 front. ;) The ITR front on a 6th gen looks pretty sweet, I've seen a couple of those around here, and I like them.

Awesome, you should get some pics of it if you can. :) I'm HIGHLY considering that lip right now, either that one or the WW Type-W lip, not sure which one yet. I DID get new rims recent;y though, Rota Circuit 8's. They look really good on there, all I need now is a good drop, and my car will be goot to go on the outside at least. I have pics of my new rims and how they look if you go to my website in the link below in my sig, and then go to my "pics" section.

The red conversion looks tight, but the bottom one is a little too much IMO. It looks like the fenders you get with the kit are flared a bit, so you might want to consider wider flares for the rear as well. Looks good though.

Omg, I have never seen that before! I don't think "sexy" is a strong enough word for that. :D Where can you get a kit like that?? Do you think they make that for a 6th gen?
Those headlights are sweet. Looks like the earlier body style of the Eclipse. :)
Damn....

Well thanks a lot for giving me more choices, now I really don't know what I want. :finger:

That last car is f***** sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Red, by any chance were those first pics, cars that were at J&S Xtreme in SoCal? It's a body shop, and I think one of the thing they "specialize" in is the S14 conversion. Just curious. I think the last one, S15 looks better. I'd try to hook you up since I'm in Japan, but you'd probably have a much easier time getting them than me. Also, have you heard of an Anchor Autobody in Stockton?

YES, definitely go with S15 front if you get this conversion, it looks WAY better, and is better suited looks wise for Civics and other non Nissan cars. :)

I'm not sure where those first cars are from, but I do know that the best place to get those kits from is So Cal. My friend was looking into getting one for his car, and he was going to go down to So Cal to J&S to get it (he has since changed his mind just to go with a kit). The only thing is, if you wanted the CF hood, it had to be specially made and shipped in--taking a few months to do it.
lol Yeah, I think after the arranging and all, the hastle would be less just trying to get it here. Thanks though. :D Besides, I'm gonna wait a little bit to think about it.

And I haven't heard of Anchor Autobody, are they good? I'm actually looking for a good paint shop somewhere up here at the moment as well.

Yeah, I'm definately liking that S15 better, good lookin out, iLLuCiv99. ;) :D

I've heard Anchor is pretty good. Yeah, J&S likes to do that conversion I guess. They've done some pretty tight cars
but man for NoCal, Gridline is reppin pretty hard
wish I knew some more shops for you in NoCal, but all the main body shops are in SoCal

Yep *sigh*
Yet another reason why I wanna move back down there.
I hear that there's some good shops over in Frisco, but I don't know where they are or anything. There is one in my town actually that does a decent job, and I've seen a few conversions that they've done, but they're not a 'specialty' shop for doing stuff like that. They also handle insurance claims and do painting on anything and such. They're a bit pricey too. I'll have to check up on Anchor. Stockton isn't too far away--definately closer than So Cal. ;)

People need to open up some more shops up here!!

I can recommend a shop for you, JT Autostyle, but that would require a little trip and stay down here in So. Cali. ;) They hooked up my friend Nichole's Teg real nice with her JDM ITR front conversion on her 4dr '95 Integra, and the pearl white paint she got it sprayed in.

Well thank you, Ashley. :) Sounds like (since I can't see it ;) ) your car is coming along quite nicely as well.

My current goal for my car, is to make it a show worthy SCCA auto-x/road racing racer car. That's what I want to do with it. I'm currently saving for a set of Tein "SS" adjustable shocks/springs so I can lower it, but also so my car can handle slalam courses and the curves required in auto-x'ing. Ehat are your goals for your car right now, out of curiousity? Show, racing, or just driving and looking good? ;)

Sweet. :D So how far away from you is that shop, Matt? I mean, if I'm spending the $$ on doing it, I might as well take a vacation while I'm at it. ;) I really doubt that anyone up here would be willing/good enough to do it, so I was planning on having to end up getting it done down in So Cal anyways. :)

right now im going for stuff i can put on my car that wont freak the rents out :hehehe: but i guess im going for more of a "clean" look now. i dont want to say JDM cuz that is not what i am going for. i basically am just hooking up my car for myself. :) i kinda grew out of the showy aspect (eventho i still love going to car shows i just think that stuff is a bit too elaborate for me) and im totally into the race aspect now but i cant really go an slap a turbo on my car cuz my parents will go insane!

i am really thinking that after i graduate i am going to buy an older model nsx. im expecting to make around 50g's a yr so i think i can afford one in like 3 yrs :) i really want to keep the civ tho and make a drag car outta of it then. i want to keep it auto and make her fast
haha but thats wayyy in the future

good choice with the tiens!!!! if i had that much xtra $ laying around id get those! totally the way to go  auto-crossing sounds fun as shit too. id love to do that!

but for now the drag aspect is fun for me. my bf got really into that now. his lude has mostly engine work on it and he wants to turbo it but i want him to go n/a for the time being cuz a turbo is a ton of maintainence and with his job he cant have his car in the shop. :)

Yeah JT Auto has done some pretty sick cars. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the yellow accord with R34 head and tails, but that's one of the cars they've done. And the 10 Switches and 19 Inches civic. I'm not sure how far they are from Silver, but they're in the city of Rosemead. I think they're kind of expensive though. I'd give them a call, and I'd also check with 20/20 Autobody in the City Of Industry, and Auto Explosion in Gardena. Auto Explosion is probably the cheapest of the three shops. They've done a lot of show cars too. Like the yellow prelude that was on Import Tuner recently, and the "R34 Accord" that was on the January issue.

Yep, I know both of those cars. Actually that prelude that was on Import Tuner was for sale, and the owner of the shop I go to was looking into buying it. He's getting a right hand wheel drive Teg type R that he's going down to LA to pick up later this month too. (must be nice)

Funny you mention that, I KNOW the guy with the "10 switches, 19 inches" Civic. ;) It's the ONLY Civic in So. Cali at least rolling on "19's and it's that chameloeon color paint job. I know him because he works at the Pasadena location VIP Center tint/audio shop like right around the corner from my house (literally). I've talked a bit with him about his car and sponsors and stuff. Oh, and how you saw his car in Euro Lowrider, the interior looks a bit different from it, now, as does the outside, he recently got a turbo for it, and re-did the headlights with some JDM amber tint units that look WAY sweet! He usually has the car there at the store with him, as I always see it sitting out there. My friend Nichole that I mentiond about a couple pages back, her Teg was the FIRST 4dr. Teg with a JDM conversion in CA. She had it done over 2 years ago. Not the first Teg with that conversion, but the first 4dr with it. Or at least so JT told her at the time when she got it done. And I live about 10 miles from JT's shop, I go to Autodynamic (L&J motorsport/Lazertek) right across the street from there frequently. ;)

The NSX sounds quite nice, and very obtainable with the goals you set forth, to get one. :)

I'm going the same way with my car, I want it to be showy, but it's gonna be clean, some JDM remaniscant stuff, but not actual JDM, you know? No wings on my car, because just much as it's gonna be show, it's gotta be functional on the track as well. I'm aimming for an N/A all motor setup for the time being. Hence the Teins, good for show to drop the car, good for track to make it stiffer or softer suspension wise. ;) I found a shop near me selling them for $850!!! That's a darn good price! :D I like auto-x because I already mountain carve roads with my friends, and I really like driving through curves rather than straight line. But don't get me wrong, no hating on drag because I still like it at heart. I mean heck, I kept my stock wheels/tires (no gonna sell them) so I can throw them on when I drag my car at the nearby drag strip. They are practically slicks now anyways. :p hehe And go you and your auto self, I'm gonna go against the grain with mine, keep it D16, AND keep it auto, and still try to lay smack downs with it. It makes it more challenging that way, but it's a great feeling. Anywho, good luck again with your Civic, and you gotta get some pics of it on here sometime. ;) hehe Ok, now that I practically wrote a sequal novel here... (I tend to do that :bloated: ).

I've actually considered going this route a long time ago. I'm basically keeping this as a back up. If for some reason I get sick of my car, or crash the front for some reason.. instead of buying a new car, I'll just do the front end conversion. Its still the same car, but different enought to keep me interested :D The full front end conversion sounds really nice too! Have you seen this one? Its not just the hood... its everything!

(I tend to do that :bloated: ).

damn 850$ for tiens!! thats sweet!!! n/a is cool. mad props to ya. i think im going to lay off my car once i get the rest of the lip kit, wheels and springs cuz my $ will be sapped.
props to u keepin it auto!!! i would love to get a supercharger w/ turbo on my car using hondata or whatever it is maybe later. but i still want the nsx  hehe its just a beast!!
hopefully my bf will teach me to drive stick this summer so i can maybe drag his car for him....since i weigh less that him :) he got a 15.6 with like just an intake but his friend with the same yr lude and stock got a 15.0 well i guess it just depends on the driver :D

It would probably be about the same price if not cheaper than getting the OEM front rebuilt anyways. :p Like a friend of mine had his front crashed in, but even with insurance approval, he got a CF hood instead, and CTR headlights. And only because they were actually cheaper than OEM. How dumb is that?

Well when I was in my wreck, I needed both new front and rear bumpers, and it was like $1400 in damage, and it looked like NOTHING!! I mean, I didn't mind driving my car around because you could barely tell I was even in a wreck. The only reason I didn't go through and do all of that with insurance is because I would have had to wait like 2 weeks, and I wanted my car out, so I got it in like 3 days. :)
My buddy wrecked his civic though, and it's been in the shop for almost 2 months now. He's getting a new kit, new z3 fenders, new headers, new intake, new hood, and all sorts of goodies because he found a cool body shop and got lots of $$ from his insurance.
But 2 months is too long to not have my baby.... :D

to tell ya the truth i was looking into that kit myself for my 95 civic but the problem is will my car last that long, i know hondas kick ass and are super reliable but around here we have some of the shittiest drivers and it pisses me off and my luck is i'll get it all modded up in about a year or so and as song as that happens i'll get hit by some mofo or my car will take a crap or some loser will import one from california or florida so i am a bit skeptical
