Help! Oil pressure HIGH????

Well Saturday I noticed my car was running hard, it was running at higher rpm's than normal. But the major thing I noticed is the the oil pressure was running high when I went over 70mph, and it would stay up there until I came back down to 50mph and it would be normal again.

Now 2 days later it is getting worse. The high oil pressure goes up at 60mph, not 70mph. I got an oil change and they did not even know what would cause it (never go back there).

What do I do now? Is it trans or could it be something easier?
How much generally would your solution cost?

I was going to go on vacation today for the week, but can not go if the car is having this problem.

I hope it is something easy to fix, for I don't want to keep driving the car if it is going to cause engine or tans damage.

Please HELP!!!

id check to see if the gauge was shot first(cheapest problem to fix).if that isnt the problem, than it could be a lot of things. What year is ur car? Does it have a computer in it? The on car computer might be going bad(not a big deal, should be fixed but no hurry) which could cause it to give inaccurate readings. More serious issues of course would be the engine. transmission wouldnt be on my list of most likely things it could be. Does your car ever stall?(Alternator belt)

Legendkiller thanks for replying to my email.
I took the car into a shop this afternoon, since it the pressure was really getting high.

The car does not stall.
It is a 1997, Sebring.
I have not had any other real problems with it, this just threw me because it was too odd and it is not a regular problem for the oil pressure to be high.

Any information you can give would be greatly appriecated!
Thanks

okay the factthat it doesnt stall lessens the chance its the alternator which eliminates one thing it probably isnt lol. I wonder what the shop will say it is

Well i talked to a friend about this and he reccomends trying a different grade of oil to see if it changes anything. Once again, might not fix the problem but could be the answer
