Whats the lightest civic there is? CX?Grendel 05-01-2002, 01:13 PM Is the civic hatchback cx the model that is the lightest? I was looking at the honda site, but it doesnt look like they sell those new anymore... do they? Thanks, -Grendel sparq 05-01-2002, 01:23 PM Grendel 05-01-2002, 01:29 PM Originally posted by sparq Yup, and I got one for sale http://www.redime.com/my_car/4sale.html :what: Hehe, NY is a bit far... is about $2.5k the going price for these models? I might go by the honda dealer after school and see how much a brand new CX w/no options would cost... -Grendel InfamousHB 05-01-2002, 02:14 PM The CX model is the lightest that honda came out with and doesnt come with no options which is wack!, my CX weight is about 2044. sparq 05-01-2002, 02:28 PM Originally posted by InfamousHB The CX model is the lightest that honda came out with and doesnt come with no options which is wack!, my CX weight is about 2044. Doesnt come with any options? Thats funny because my CX came STOCK with rear speakers (good luck finding them in a hatch) as well as A/C ... who needs power windows and locks? :finger: As far as the going price, honestly it veries GREATLY on mileage and condition of the vehicle. The price listed on my website is the Kelly Blue Book value of the car, with the mileage I have on it from a private party (not a dealer!) -- but notice it also says on there that "I know its not worth this much stock" ... which is true, again all depends on what you find and what you are looking for. My interior is pretty cherry, clean all around with brand new carpet (not even installed yet -- cause im waiting till someone buys it) as well as a decently expensive set of front rotors and pads (dimple drilled and slotted w/ zinc coating for good looks and rust protection!) Condition of the paint, interior, maintanance, all things you have to consider. You "COULD" buy a CX for $6000 if it had like 1,000 miles on it and still had the original window sticker on the car and looks the same as it did when it was new on the showroom floor... some would call you crazy, but if you want a "new" car -- spending 6k really isnt that bad is it? Good luck finding one like that though... it was just an example! InfamousHB 05-01-2002, 02:43 PM The only option my CX came with was power door locks thats just because it came with a alarm, depends what dealer you get it from some dealers get those options put in before they sell it. Grendel 05-01-2002, 03:35 PM I was just trying to see what the lightest new civic is... I was kinda thinking about buying one to mod a little, and have some fun with -Grendel dome 05-01-2002, 04:52 PM I don't think you can get a CX in the new civic. The lowest model you can get I think is the DX. DO away with the power stuff, the AC, and take out your power steering plus the back seats, plus any number of things can give you very decent weight reductions. sparq 05-01-2002, 04:55 PM Taking the back seat out in a hatch isnt going to gain you much... maybe 10 pounds... better off getting a full fiberglass front end  CXHatchback 05-01-2002, 11:37 PM My CX came with those rear speakers too, along with the rare full vinyl interior. nemesls_2000 05-01-2002, 11:40 PM Sparq, where are your rear speakers located at? Mine came w/o the rear speakers so I guess I'm gonna have to build a small box for some 6x9s or try something like the fiberglass pods that Rene built. Oh yeah, thanks for the Install Dr. on the other post, that helped A LOT, but I still haven't got my radio in b/c the guy I bought it from cut the wiring harness and the kill switch wiring is back there and there is another battery wire w/ the built in fuse, but it isn't w/ the rest of the radio wires. It is a mess. madtownhonda 05-02-2002, 12:34 AM the 92-95 CX and VX weigh the same, just a shade over 2000lbs.
