My son has a 97 turbo eclipse. The heads for this model are hard to find and somone switched the head for a 91-94 non-turbo head. The only problem is the intake ports are too small for the head. I dont know if the head will run right on this block if i modified the intake or if there is a kit to fit between the intake and head? I also was wondering if this is normally done for a performance increase or becouse the heads are so hard to find. Thanks Linwood

yes i will improve the performance. Also doing that swap is a little more difficult than just swaping the motor for a 6-bolt. I was going to do that and there some details that i was not aware of untill the head was already off. one the cam angle sensor is different i don't know if the 2g one will fit and the thermostat housing is different. You can either have it molded or buy the parts from the 1g to make it fit
