I had a similar problem with my Ram 250 conversion van, I replaced the axle bearings and checked the carrier and pinion bearings which were fine but I still had the rumble and vibration so I replaced the u-joints and it was still there :eek7: I drove it like that another month and decided it was time to get to the bottom of it. I jacked up the back and ran it on stands and no noise Hum I jacked up the front and spun the front wheels and found the left front wheel bearings dry and flaking apart. I replaced bearings on both sides and it's been quiet for over 30,000 miles now, I would have never believed that front wheel bearing right under my feet would have transfered noise to the rear had I not seen it for myself.
So before you go doing what I did :banghead: just jack up the front and spin the wheels !
