I want to paint my taillights should i buy clear taillights or should i use my oem taillights to paint them candy apple red?, which taillights would you use clear or oem tails?, let me know thanks.

in the other thread oyu posted in the exterior forum some guy said he paid like 7 bucks for paint and did his. or you could pay like 150.00 for new lights. just paint them by yourself and if you mess up then buy new lights. you will only waste 7 bucks if you mess up.right?;)

I'm sayin though would they look the same painted if i was to paint the clear taillights?,or would the clear tails and oem tails look the same painted?

I think it will "look" painted....me personally i'd spend a few bucks and just buy the new lights.

Don't paint the stock tails. It will look like ass, I've seen it before. Just do what I did and get some clears and paint them like this:

Or you can get a set of Altezza tails and go all red like this:

Yeah what paint did you use? I have all clears and would like to do a 1/2 red like that.

nice all reds but your right tail light is fucked up. its all crooked and uneven compared to your left one.

you can paint over the stock taillights, I had red/amber tails and I painted them all red with "testors candy apple red transperent spray" available at any hobby store or some arts and crafts stores. you can see mine in my sig.

No, it'll look fine if you paint the stock ones. That's what I did and they came out fine, although I agree painting clear tails red probably looks better.

Yeah, I have to adjust the trunk, I'm just not sure how to do it. If anyone knows, hit me up. Anyway, the paint I used is Testors Transparent Candy Apple Red #1605. Should run you approximately $3.50 per 3 oz. can. Good luck.
