1999 Suburban Loss of Powerriepman 08-05-2005, 02:04 PM I own this 5.7L 1999 Suburban and I don't know what happened... I was driving 65 mph and everything shut down (truck, radio, lights, everything) so I coasted to roadside. The power came back (lights, etc.) so I then started the truck and it ran great. I went home, re-started it fine, went to bed. Came out the next morning and there was NOTHING, no power. No lights, no radio, no turnover, NOTHING. I know the battery is good since it's brand new. I re-charged it just to be sure, still nothing. You do not get any power even if you try jump starting (not even a light, blinker, beeper, nothing). Does anyone know where to start looking? Brian no_h20 08-05-2005, 07:35 PM check for voltage at the other end of the battery cable. bkrum 08-05-2005, 10:20 PM My 99 had the same problem. It has a split head cable at the batteries positive post end. If you disconnect it from the post and separate them you might find corrosion between the two half’s. Good luck! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
