Ok I was driving my hatch and the speedometer stoped working couple min later my check engine came on I checked my manual and read the light code the ecu makes and the ecu said that is is the speed sensor. I cant seem to find where that is or if there even is one. I want to fix this so that stupid light turns off can anyone help me on this i would appreciate it thanks

the vss (vehicle speed sensor) is located on your tranny.

im having this problem with my speedometer as well, but i have the ABS light instead of the check engine light, and a mechanic i know personally said its most likely the VSS. But could the ABS light still be due to a malfunctioning VSS? i ordered it today and will go pick it up tomorow, any tips on how to change that bad bear?

its easy, unhook the old one, remove it from the tranny put the new one in, plug it back up, un hook your battery for about 10 seconds, your good.
