Toyota Tacoma Tire Pressures blippo 08-05-2005, 02:10 AM
The sticker on the door panel on my Toyota Tacoma Xtracab have the tire pressures of the P265/70R16 tires at 26 lbs for the front and 29 lbs. for the rear. Is that the best pressures to keep those size tires at for normal driving conditions? Flash75 08-05-2005, 01:55 PM With an unloaded truck I think 31 or 32 psi front and rear will give a little better fuel economy, improve steering response and perhaps give better tire life for the front tires. The ride will get slightly rougher, so it's a trade off. If loaded you should increase the rear tires an additional 2-3 psi. Don't exceed the maximum inflation pressure marked on the sidewalls, it's probably 35 psi for your tires. Inflation pressure should be checked with cold tires and a good quality gage. Clifton blippo 08-05-2005, 04:26 PM Thanks, I'll keep them at 31-32 lbs. truckpoor 08-05-2005, 06:09 PM I have always kept mine at 40-45 psi. But I also grew up on a farm out in the middle of nowhere where the nearest paved road was 10 miles away. Haven't had any problems with this, though.
