fuel/ignition system upgrades/replacement

I was wondering what kind of upgrades or replacement stuff I would be looking at to replace the injectors (might have to do real soon), fuel pump, and ignition. I've been looking at the RC injectors, but the one ad suggested they didnt work with our cars (it said for 92-01 honda). I was going to also get a v-afc to control the a/f since I am probably going FI in the future. I know these may be overkill right now since I only have i/h/e on the b16. I'm really concerned with the injectors, since they may be causing my coughing problem. Do I buy those for the del sol vtec or for 90 si (or are they the same)? should I be looking for the 310cc or 440cc? thanks.

Del sol or newer SI injectors. your gonna have to wickedly lean out the fuel big time untill you go F/I and the size of the injectors will depend on your boost. If I were you I'd install the injectors w/the turbo but you could install the v-afc right now, that'd be sweet w/b16. If I were you I'd get the vtec working before I do anything else.

yeah, the vtec is #1 at this point, then I wanna attack the coughing problem, because its getting worse and its hella annoying and who knows if its doing any damage. I would be pissed to buy some new oem injectors and then have to buy some more in the next few months. So what are stock injectors volume? If I go FI, its not gonna be extreme since I want to keep the internals almost stock, something like t3 or t3/t4 @ 7psi for daily driving. later on if I want more, I wouldnt feel as bad buying new shit while I get a built bottom end and what not.

I found a guy selling injectors off of a gen 1 b16, how much should I offer him for used ones? He says they work. If I can get them cheap, it would be nice because then I can see if the injectors were the problem, then buy the performance ones when I get the turbo and really need them.

Just for future reference you will need peak and hold injectors. 92 and up are saturated if I am not mistaken. All honda injectors besides prelude injectors are 240cc. As for injectors for your turbo project, if you want to save some money try to find some 450cc dsm injectors.

thanks, that was the info I was looking for - is it an obd issue, or it just so happens to fall to 92 when honda went obd1? what other injectors would be peak and hold (any of the normal cars we source shit from - 90-91 tegs, etc)? thanks again...

want to find your injector size?
try this (it gives you a rough estimate...):

horsepower x B.S.F.C.
# of injectors x .80

that will give you lbs/hr
then multiply that by like 10.5 to convert it to cc/min

so like a b16a (stock):

160hp x .5
4 x .8
this will give you 25
25 x 10.5 = 262.5 i think honda uses 240cc for everything except prelude. f the smaller size they use is probably for fuel economy or lower emmissions.

on average your B.S.F.C. on a n/a car would be around .5. turbo/supercharged will be around .6.

1st gen eclipse turbo injectors will work and you can get a set for $50 used. they are 310cc i believe. also i just read that ford racing injectors for mustangs work too if you bore out the fuel rail a little bit. you are supposed to be able to go up to 200 hp or so on stock injectors. the 97 prelude vtec and integra type r injectors are 280cc.

you can get injectors blueprinted and cleaned at RC for $100.
