my 98 voyager (swb) has a huge oil leak at the rear main seal.

one mechanic says to rebuild transmission when you repair the seal because the seal repair screws up the transmission.

the other mechanic says he can replace the seal without disturbing the transmission.

both have years of experience as transmission specialists.

the trans is working fine now. the van has 123,000 miles.

anybody have any experience or suggestions?

I have the same situation but with a 1993 3.3liter. Have you resolved this?
