So from all I've read, it seems that the remotes aren't compatible with different years? For example, I can't use a '98 remote for a '97?

I just want to be sure because I can only find the '97 for $10 more. Not a huge difference, but...

Also, if anyone can recommend a valid dealer, I'd greatly appreciate it!

The 98 most commonly uses the gray remote, where the 96-97 uses the black unit. They are not interchangeable.
