Cost of resurfacing rotors?

I hear a small noise coming from my front right wheel. I also feel the brakes pulsating slightly when I brake. I thought maybe the rotor is rubbing the pads somehow. So I take it to Honda. They say that the rotor needs to be resurfaced slightly, not much. Cost: $68 for both front rotors. What do you guys think? Too much?

Can I do it myself? Maybe with sand paper? :smoker2:

Nope, dont even think about sandpaper....

When they resurface rotors they actually mill material away to cut down on runout. The tolerance for runout is typically 0.10mm.

I think 68 bux is rape for two rotors, but thats for them to go through the trouble of taking the rotors off and milling them and then putting it all back together.

Places like Pep Boyz or AutoZone might do it for a lot cheaper.

Thanks, I'll look around for a better price. I know there's got to be other places that'll do it for less. :smoker2:

DUDE, pep boys cuts rotors for $8 each...where did you get $68? Are these special rotors or something? New rotors (stock) are less than $68 from pep boys (for both!)!

$68 bucks is for the labor they charge for taking them off. I'm thinking of taking them off myself. Is it a pain and will I have to take out the bearings too? :smoker2:

Taking them off is really easy! But some cars are harder than others, good luck!

nah, shouldnt have to remove the wheel bearings. might have to give the rotors a couple of whacks with a rubber mallet if they are a bit seized with surface rust.

why not get aftermarket rasors for at most 100 bucks and they will stop better
