air conditoning helpiwc 07-28-2005, 11:27 PM my 1996 runner has no air conditioning, the dealer will install a factory kit and it will cost me about 1300 bucks. is it worth it i will only use it maybe two months out of the year, i only have 69k miles on it and its in great shape has all other option including sunroof. i think the value will not make much a difference, anybody install this or some opinions if i shouold do this thanks Brian R. 07-29-2005, 12:42 AM Welcome to the AF! IMO, it's not worth it. Edmonton deserves two heaters. - not A/C. :) Cd's90 07-29-2005, 12:46 AM The factory kits go in fairly easy, after you have done a few. 6Cylinders had a few tricks to them, and bolts were all packaged together. As a Tech, I had an installation manual, which you can't do it without. First one took me about 6-7 hours, by 5th I was down to about 4 hours on a good day. Unless you are mechanically inclined, I probably would say don't do it yourself. You will still have to take it somewhere to get evacuated and charged/leak checked. Decide whether it is worth the cost, and also worth the headache, of having your wheels down a while, and a hundred parts scattered all over the place. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
