Fuel Filter Change??

NOOB here! This question is regarding my RV. It is a 1993 E-350 with 7.5 liter gas engine. It has 30,000 miles and the last two times we took it out the same problem happened. After going up a mountain pass, just after leveling off and cooling down, the rig just stalls out with the check engine light on. I tried to change the fuel filter and somehow s----ed up the thing. Two people have tried to get it off; Jiffy Lube and a regular auto shop. ?? What can I do. I was thinking that the problem was the fuel filter. The other shop change the ignition coil after explaining to me that it could possibly be that. Thanks in advance for the help. Also any hints on changing the filter?

Anyboby........?? Is there a trick in getting the filter off if the 'teeth' are messed up? Or, will I have to get a whole new line?

I have a 93 Ford E350 motor home as well. On a recent trip, it started struggling for power when downshifting for extra power for climbing hills. Got really bad and ended up having it towed to a shop where they found the fuel filter clogged almost solid. That said, it seems your problem might not have been the fuel filter. once you climbed the hill and leveled out, the need for fuel decreased so your trouble shouldn't have started then.

Unfortunately for me, next trip out the RV worked find going to, but experienced the same problem coming home. Had it towed off the turnpike again. That was yesterday and I'm still waiting for the diagnosis,

Thanks for your reply! Is it supposed to be a real big deal to get the fuel filter off. Since the time I first posted I have had another "repair" shop try to remove it. No results. Will I have to replace the whole line?

Not sure. Can you cut the line before and after the fuel pump, then use some sort of splicing kit to replace the sections of line you removed with the old filter?

These filters are almost TOO simple to remove! there are plastic clips that lock the ends on. they are white in color and you just pry the legs apart at the locking end and slide the clip out. then the boots will simply slide off! And I say they are almost TOO easy because Ive often wondered how something so easy and seal as well as it does lol.

I have tried, and two mechanics also, using the special tool to get the lines off. Nothing. I took off the metal clips and incerted the tool to release the 'teeth' and pulled like heck but nothing budged. Is it possible that the teeth are damaged? Also is 30,000 miles too much for the original filter?

I Guess I might have to go to the RV dealer.
