2000 Jimmy Loud Front End Noiserebart 07-27-2005, 01:21 PM My 2000 GMC Jimmy is making a loud humming noise that is comming from either the front end or the transmission. The noise increases in pitch as the vehicle goes faster. It is not tied to the engine rpm's since the pitich does not seem to change when the rpm's decrease. It is almost as if the 4 wheel drive is engaged without the hubs being locked.. Does anyone know what might be causing this ??? Does anyone know what might be causing this ??? I just replaced both my front bearings on my 00' Jimmy 2 months ago. I ended up paying nearly $700.00. I would recommend shopping around, I could of gotten it done a bit cheaper elsewhere I found out afterwards. Also, if you check on a lot of other sites you will find this problem occurs about every 60,000 miles or so on this vehicle. Just plan for it. I replaced mine at 53,000. Great job GMC. BlazerLT 08-10-2005, 03:40 AM They are not that bad, I have 135,000miles on mine without a failure. *knocks on wooden computer desk* vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
