2000 XJ8-Knocking noise in dashboard

I recently purchased a 2000 XJ8 from a local dealer. Since the purchase, I have been taking it in for repair of a strange, heavy knock in the dashboard. It sounds like a small bowling ball falling against something in the firewall. It happens any time I torque the body slightly - i.e. go over a speed bump slightly angled. The dealer says they can't find the problem, but I am suspicious. They say they have taken it apart and checked everything - they even tried to reseal the windshield, which I found laughable.

Any thoughts from anyone?

TIA,

To add to my previous posting:
The knocking seems not to be coming from inside the dash, but rather it "feels" like it is in the body somewhere. Almost as if when the frame is slightly torqued, the metal pops. I took it in yet again to the dealership and they gave me a 2003 VP to drive in the meantime. I discovered it had the same issue. Now the dealership is saying that it is just a Jaguar trait and I need to get used to it - like wind noise. Does anyone have any thoughts on this at all? I can't imagine I am the only person who finds a clunking noise in a Jaguar to be bothersome.

Thanks again in advance....

It isn't a trait.

Take the car to a Jaguar repair shop or perhaps a different dealer to check the front shock bushings and the frame.
