Ultimate SleeperLancerZero 07-26-2005, 12:13 AM What would, in your opinion, make the best sleeper (with proper modifications, of course)? I'm all for a minivan with an engine setup a-la the Renault Espace F1 (mid-engine, 800+hp). But here's a little list I've come up with while I was bored at work: -Anything made by Kia -Any minivan -Any old wagon with that cheap wood panelling on the side -A rust-covered old truck -Granny's old Grand Marquis -Geo Metro -Hyundais And here's what would be the true ultimate sleeper, in my opinion: VW Bus! :lol2: So, what's everybody else think? Can anybody find a good pic or two of a great sleeper? GritMaster 07-26-2005, 02:56 AM Dodge Sprinter, or an 18-wheeler. Oh and can we give up on threads like this already? clawhammer 07-26-2005, 09:01 AM Ford Econoline. -Josh- 07-26-2005, 10:49 AM Everyone has had their own preference on this. Mine has always been a LeSabre T-Type with an L67 swapped in....*drools* Right_LiRrr 07-26-2005, 12:55 PM Anything korean. :P I've always liked lower models with higher end models' "good stuff". Like a lancer with an evo engine and drivetrain conversion. Or one of my favs, a Civic with a K20A engine conversion. Or a higher end model made to look like a lower end one like an Impreza WRX with a front mount IC and 2.5RS hood. Andydg 07-26-2005, 06:34 PM Turbo Dodges (http://www.thedodgegarage.com/) Click on the link for the Reliant on the left side of the page. Diesel trucks also make pretty good sleepers. King Of Crunk 07-26-2005, 09:04 PM i think that old mopar turbos are great sleepers IMO.....Like Polygon's LeBaron.....i almost got a Laser before my camaro... xXxRocker5150 07-26-2005, 09:40 PM get a dodge spirit R/T... hard to find but it's the ultimate sleeper, or get a saab 9000 aero you wouldn't expect 14s stock from either of those cars. KustmAce 07-27-2005, 01:31 AM A car that looks like this http://www.anti-rice.com/ricepics/Cavalier%20-%202.jpg With a motor that looks like this http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/526000-526999/526752_221_full.jpg PWRDbyUNCLEbens 07-27-2005, 04:02 AM The sprinter could be quick easily with its cummins I-6 nissanfanatic 07-28-2005, 12:42 AM an old turboed Subaru.lol http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:ih6qDJn0USQJ:members.tripod.com/STOMP_2/subaru.jpg (http://members.tripod.com/STOMP_2/subaru.jpg) click to enlarge. And yes, some of them come turboed... They make great rally cars/beaters for conquering the woods.lol And they never break... LancerZero 07-29-2005, 12:38 AM :22yikes: A 3.8L supercharged V8 . . . IN A FARKING RICER CAVVY?!?!?! Wow. THAT's a new one! For the Dodges . . . loved the old Reliant and Spirit! Ha! And the Dart that looked like a beater - awesome! I still wish I could find a 12s VW bus. Also known as the L67 LancerZero 07-29-2005, 05:08 PM Oops . . . still, that's a monster motor for a car that has (base) a 2.2L. BigBL87 07-29-2005, 10:10 PM Everyone has had their own preference on this. Mine has always been a LeSabre T-Type with an L67 swapped in....*drools* Personally, my favorite sleeper (that has the sleeper power when you buy it) is the Buick Regal GS. Most people don't even think to see if a Regal is a GS, because they don't think its worth racing. I kinda wish I'd gotten a Regal instead of my GP GT. I love my car, but I'd also love a supercharger:iceslolan. Just my :2cents:. Andydg 07-30-2005, 12:57 AM Definately an old VW beatle from the 70's...they were just as slow and rusted out as those POS vans I saw a vid of an old VW Beatle with a Chevy big block in it...I need to find that again. BP2K2Max 07-30-2005, 11:57 AM how about a geo metro with a 3.8L Grand national motor and nitrous? http://www.muchosucko.com/video-9secgeometro.html LancerZero 07-31-2005, 12:09 AM :naughty: :smokin: :screwy: :evillol: :ylsuper: I want that Metro. Man, nothing quite like sending scads of drivers home whining, "Dude . . . I just got totally pwned by a Geo Metro . . ." Polygon 08-01-2005, 12:30 PM i think that old mopar turbos are great sleepers IMO.....Like Polygon's LeBaron.....i almost got a Laser before my camaro... Well thanks, that makes me feel better even though the project is hold for now. Anyhow, you people all know my answer. I think my car makes a great sleeper mainly because most people don't know that Chrysler turbo-charged these cars let along put their second most potent turbo power plant under the hood. However, of the Turbo Mopars the best sleepers have to be the mini-vans especially those with the fake wood on the sides. drftk1d 08-01-2005, 12:37 PM my friend had a chrysler town and country with the ol dodge turbo motor (the 2.5L) that thing was fun as hell to drive around. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
