Theft Syste Light Stays On

I have a '99 Malibu LS with 98,000 miles on it. I only had the car for a few months and it's been driving great. The only problem that I've experienced lately is the Theft System Light that's on the cluster panel. Whenever I start the car, the theft system light stays on and remains on until I turn off the car. I ususally solve this issue by restarting the car again until it goes off. I also remember awhile back when it rained really hard, my car would start, but would not turn over. I had to sit in the car and wait 10 minutes (from my mechanic) until I can start the car again (The Theft System light was blinking during this time) I later discovered that my theft system has a glitch and that the key clylinder (?) may need to be changed. Could the theft system light that's on my cluster panel relates to the car not turning over? I must say that this only happens like every once in awhile. Should I go ahead and take it to the shop or should I wait until something finally falls apart?

TIA - Sethkj

Nevermind - did a search on TheftLock System and found quite a few threads. I'm glad I'm not the only one that has this problem. I'm going to take my car to the shop and see if they can look at the lock clynder(?). I'll keep you guys posted. - Sethkj

Read to do this from somewhere which made my theft light gone.
I went to RadioShack bought a bottle of electric conduct cleaner and spayed into key hole two times during a warm day (hot inside).
It has not show up since for three weeks.
Good Luck.
