SRT-4 vs. Cobalt SSG-man422 07-24-2005, 09:30 AM I was in the Cobalt forum, and some were saying that the cobalt ss can take an SRT-4 easily. The SRT-4 has 230hp, and the cobaltss has 205. I know its not all about power, but what else does the cobalt have to make it faster than the srt-4 (torque maybe?) ? And which one do you all think would win? das2123 07-24-2005, 10:21 AM Stock vs stock, the SRT wins hands down. Down here at Modern Performance, they have both and although the cobalt is impressive, the SRT takes it. pik_d 07-25-2005, 06:33 PM the cobalt has less power, less torque, and is heavier. oh... and it gets its power a bit later on, even with it's supercharger vs. the neons turbo... looks to me like the srt-4 has it all. TEXSRT4 07-25-2005, 09:27 PM its funny, several magazines state that the cobalt is a better car, supposidly better handling (only nominal improvment, at that) and yet the sartie, hands down wins every track comparison there is. a significant power differnce, more than makes up for a minimal (and i mean MINIMAL) handling difernce. the SS claims better handling numbers, but also has some camber dialed in from factory. the SRT is setup with 0* of camber all around. a simple alignment will put the srt at an advantage in EVERY way. no magazine has yet to do that, every compairison is bone stock for bone stock off teh showroom floor. do an alignment and try it again, the srt would win in every way das2123 07-26-2005, 05:33 PM its funny, several magazines state that the cobalt is a better car, supposidly better handling (only nominal improvment, at that) and yet the sartie, hands down wins every track comparison there is. a significant power differnce, more than makes up for a minimal (and i mean MINIMAL) handling difernce. the SS claims better handling numbers, but also has some camber dialed in from factory. the SRT is setup with 0* of camber all around. a simple alignment will put the srt at an advantage in EVERY way. no magazine has yet to do that, every compairison is bone stock for bone stock off teh showroom floor. do an alignment and try it again, the srt would win in every wayPlus the SRT is prettier :p G-man422 07-26-2005, 05:49 PM It IS a nice looking car. maykelcj 07-27-2005, 10:07 AM Plus the SRT is prettier :p besides I think when the designers of the cobalt tried to make the car's body they put a civic's front end in the non supercharge model hey used a neon's rear end. 92pontiacbonny 07-27-2005, 11:29 AM YOU GUYS ARENT GUNNA BELEIVE THIS.............................................. ............. the cobalt, is actually a better car than the srt-4!!! im so sry u srt-4 fans :crying: das2123 07-27-2005, 12:44 PM YOU GUYS ARENT GUNNA BELEIVE THIS.............................................. ............. the cobalt, is actually a better car than the srt-4!!! im so sry u srt-4 fans :crying:Based on what? http://www.dodge.com/nav/photo/srt4_4_main.jpg 2.4-liter turbocharged 16-valve DOHC 230 horsepower 250 lb-ft of torque Zero to 60 in around 5.8 seconds http://www.chevrolet.com/i/pic/cobalt/ss_home.jpg 2.0L ECOTEC Supercharged DOHC 205 hp 200 lb.-ft. of torque Again your ignorance prevails  92pontiacbonny 07-27-2005, 04:03 PM Again your ignorance prevails [/QUOTE] okay, i made a mistake, every body does but that dusnt meen u have to start sayin stuff, i got my facts from......www.supercars.net, if u want to sart sumthing with any one start it with them, i put down what i saw maykelcj 07-27-2005, 04:03 PM besides I think when the designers of the cobalt tried to make the car's body they put a civic's front end in the non supercharge model hey used a neon's rear end. check this out http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/32608518/abef/__sr_/230c.jpg?phCz.5CBl2PrsVdl das2123 07-27-2005, 04:13 PM okay, i made a mistake, every body does but that dusnt meen u have to start sayin stuff, i got my facts from......www.supercars.net, if u want to sart sumthing with any one start it with them, i put down what i sawRemember ignorance is just a lack of knowledge...it isn't a put down and wasn't intended to be. Not only did I catch him and pass him back but I did it several times much to his disbelief HE STILL DRIVES A CAVALIER!! I have Stage 1 but he wouldn't have beaten the SRT stock either. G-man422 08-09-2005, 08:16 AM Nice! King Of Crunk 08-09-2005, 08:14 PM uh a cobalt and a cavalier aren't the same thing.... they have different powerplants and different aesthetics.... das2123 08-10-2005, 08:40 AM uh a cobalt and a cavalier aren't the same thing.... they have different powerplants and different aesthetics....Way to point out the obvious...But they are both 4 cylinder sport compact cars. TEXSRT4 08-10-2005, 07:39 PM differnt astetics yes, differnt powerplants, no. they are all powered by the ecotec motor whether that be a 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4! G-man422 08-11-2005, 07:33 AM Either way we can all aggree that the SRT-4 is better than the CobaltSS right? simple guy 08-11-2005, 10:57 AM Oh and BTW there "King of Crunk" Unless your rolling something bigger than a 600cc streetbike I would be on the lookout of the SRT because I have been rolling at about 20mph and had some dudes on there bikes try to run me and they didn't take an inch from my Sartie. They were actually shaking there heads in disbelief. Off the line HELL YEAH they would beat me but rolling you should think twice! Hey come to think of it! Alot of people shake their heads after they get beat by the NEON, I think thats why I like my car so much! HAHA G-man422 08-13-2005, 08:17 AM Cool, LOL das2123 08-13-2005, 10:56 AM Either way we can all aggree that the SRT-4 is better than the CobaltSS right? :iagree: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
