Hello, I really need help so I am posting this here, does anyone know anything about pontiac sunbirds. I currently own a 1990 Pontiac Sunbird (2.0 L 4 Cyl) and am having a problem. The problem is that I am getting fuel to the throttle body but there is no fuel coming out of the injector, and the injector is fine. Any help at all would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Brian

Your injectors probably got dirt in them and pluged up.

Brian, are all four injectors not working? Have you had the regulator checked? THere is a service valve on the end of the regulator where the fuel feed lines screws in, take the valve cap off and push the valve in to see if there is fuel in the rail. You can also use a noid light to plug into the injector harness to check for a pulse reference from the ecm while cranking the engine, autozone usually has the noid lights.

Well, first off there's only one fuel injector, Brian knows this already. But I'm not sure how he knows that there is no fuel coming out. Is there fuel no fuel coming out when the ignition key is set to run or is it not working when you're turning the car over? I would buy new distributor caps and coils and a new ignition module-this will cost about 30-40 dollars. Don't replace them if the fuel injector isn't spraying when you're turning it over; that will probably be your problem. Unfortunately there is no real way to test the distributor cap and ignition module, unless you have that laying around. I'd also check the spark plugs to make sure they're not fouled up. and if your injector is dirty buy some brake cleaner or carb/choke cleaner and spray it into the throttle body. Hope this helps.

Hmm I had similar problems with my sunbird. I have and 88 sunbird 2.0L with throttle body injection(one injector). But my problem was that if I was driving for a while and truned the car off it wouldn't start back up for like 3 hours. It turned out that it was a faulting computer modual that controlled the fuel injector. It was a cheap fix but I don't remember exactly what the modual was called.

But yeah I had the same problem, no fuel comming out of the injector... hmm if I were you I'd talk to some local mechanics and see what they think... I dunno what else I can tell ya.
