Let me start from the begining......

I have a water leak on my 98 pontaic Grand am. I first thought it was the heater core. After several hours of work and alot of cuss words, I finally got it in. Little to my supprise I still had a leak.

Now the leak was soaking the floor on the passenger side and only when the ac is on. So I started tracing back the problem, I found water dripping off of something that looks simular to a heater core but its for the AC and higher up behind the dash.

I was told by a friend that it could be stopped up and not letting it drain out. But I cant find out how to unclogg the thing.

IF the admin will allow HTML I will upload pics of it to my site and put a link here so you can see it.

Can someone offer me a solution to the problem? Email me at bobby@sellingfreak.com

The water is coming from the evaporator of your air conditioner. The drain is located on the firewall usually it has an L shaped hose on it. Once you find it you can run a piece of wire or a long drill bit through the drain to open it up.

On my 95 the drain for the ac is in the housing with the heater core, if you take the bottom pan back out you can get easy access to the drain if probing with a wire does not work. Spiders love the drains too.
