Service Engine code on again

I took my 99 sub in to get the intake gaskets changed. While they were in, I had them replace the cap, rotor and distributor pinion. I wasn't 5 miles from the shop and the the service engine came on. I had the code checked at the auto parts store and it was P0404 - which is exhaust gas recirulation chk ( or something like that). Is it possible that the something was installed incorrectly when it was being put back together? I won't be able to contact the shop until Monday, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

Have you inspected the engine carefully? Some exaust gas is recirculated back somehow, I'm not sure. It would have to be thru the intake manifold or into the air intake before it enters the manifold. Per haps they left a tube unconnected or something. I can't imagine it causing a major problem before monday.

My Uncles used to hook a spark plug to their exaust pipe to burn them!

I brought the truck back and they put it on the computer. Apparently the EGR valve wasn't responding, but somehow they got it working again. It seems to be behaving well now anyway.
