00 alero hoodmgs2006 07-22-2005, 09:00 PM the hood on my 2000 GX is getting rust bubbles and has a lot of chipping paint on it, is it easier to repair the hood or should i just get a new hood put on? how much on avg does it cost to get a hood and have it painted? thanks JTrujillo86 07-23-2005, 01:09 AM If you're getting rust BUBBLES I think GM will cover that under the 6 year / 100K mile rust warranty. Jeremy mgs2006 07-23-2005, 01:16 AM Okay so how do i go about getting it repaired? I am NOT the original owner of the car, I just got it back in march, so can i still get it repaired? and, do i need to find an oldsmobile dealer around somewhere or is any GM dealership a good place? thanks a lot. JTrujillo86 07-23-2005, 01:25 AM You should be able to take it to any GM Goodwrench service place. While mine was still under warranty, I only took it to an Oldsmobile place, but they were morons, so I went to a Chevy Dealership. Jeremy biv343 07-25-2005, 09:22 AM I thought that the corrosion warranty only covered "rust through" (meaning that a hole must have formed). I may be wrong though. JTrujillo86 07-26-2005, 04:44 AM I thought that too, but there was someone on this forum just a few days ago that convinced a Service Manager to replace his hood due to rust bubbles. It's always worth a try to get it in and looked at. Jeremy mgs2006 07-26-2005, 09:39 PM WOW! i went to the dealer to have them look at it, and i am getting a new hood for free! even though there were no rust holes it was rusting from the inside of the hood and bubbling outside, so they ordered me a hood. anyone who has a rusty hood should go get it looked at by the dealer, its worth it. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
