the hood on my 2000 GX is getting rust bubbles and has a lot of chipping paint on it, is it easier to repair the hood or should i just get a new hood put on? how much on avg does it cost to get a hood and have it painted? thanks

If you're getting rust BUBBLES I think GM will cover that under the 6 year / 100K mile rust warranty.

Okay so how do i go about getting it repaired? I am NOT the original owner of the car, I just got it back in march, so can i still get it repaired? and, do i need to find an oldsmobile dealer around somewhere or is any GM dealership a good place? thanks a lot.

You should be able to take it to any GM Goodwrench service place. While mine was still under warranty, I only took it to an Oldsmobile place, but they were morons, so I went to a Chevy Dealership.

I thought that the corrosion warranty only covered "rust through" (meaning that a hole must have formed). I may be wrong though.

I thought that too, but there was someone on this forum just a few days ago that convinced a Service Manager to replace his hood due to rust bubbles. It's always worth a try to get it in and looked at.

WOW! i went to the dealer to have them look at it, and i am getting a new hood for free! even though there were no rust holes it was rusting from the inside of the hood and bubbling outside, so they ordered me a hood. anyone who has a rusty hood should go get it looked at by the dealer, its worth it.
