Rally Sport 07-20-2005, 11:40 PM Have you ran the car for codes? CamarosRsweet94 07-21-2005, 02:17 AM What year car and what engine? Check everything that has to do with the car getting Air, Fuel, Spark, and compression. jolt1 07-21-2005, 09:39 PM year 91 305 tpi auto I think I have a bad ground some where I have found the spark to be incifficant to start the car. ground problums seems to be at the starter. best I can tell Genopsyde 07-21-2005, 09:42 PM change the coil. jolt1 07-21-2005, 09:44 PM also yes I ran the codes. codes where systom reply code 1 code 2 was o2 sensor from exhaust leak I would think and that all the codes jolt1 07-21-2005, 09:45 PM coil was replaced no change Genopsyde 07-21-2005, 09:47 PM did you check the ICM? jolt1 07-21-2005, 09:48 PM did change the ingnition module still nothing Genopsyde 07-21-2005, 09:50 PM if i did all that and still no start, i'd be taking the timing cover off to see if the chain broke or something. jolt1 07-21-2005, 09:57 PM checked the timing by using a plug wire and feeling for the comprestion stroke . looked to be ok spark is just brown and weak only thing that has mad a difference is regrounding the battery it started 4 times and ran for 5 sec. each time supervisor1886 07-21-2005, 11:37 PM You need an electrician... Change the computer CamarosRsweet94 07-22-2005, 11:59 AM SO the car cranks but will not fire? AND you figured out that the spark is too weak to start the car... but I noticed that you replaced damn near everything dealing with spark. Damn I am stumped... jolt1 07-22-2005, 09:16 PM to day I, regrounded the car to see if that helps .it did a little better. I just got a a new computer to try but would like to know where i can get a copy of the wiring layout for the cars computer to make sure all connectores are ok be for pluging new computrer in to see what happones. the old plug has so wires on the yellow plug side that I dont want to trust till I can ck them. Xenostalgia 07-22-2005, 09:20 PM *fills in for John* Haynes Manual 20$ and its your best friend jolt1 07-22-2005, 09:23 PM got one dosen't show wireing or vac hose layout supervisor1886 07-23-2005, 03:35 AM actually it all sounds like the ignition module died if not theres a bad ground somewhere jolt1 07-23-2005, 04:42 PM found problum need to know the way to bypass the entire vats systom!!!!! Genopsyde 07-23-2005, 10:35 PM if the VATS was the problem, the car wouldn't even crank, let alone run for a few seconds like you stated earlier. jolt1 07-24-2005, 11:46 AM it is only the injector side of the vats jolt1 07-24-2005, 11:51 AM also I ck the ignition module put a new one on first thing dylanm13 07-26-2005, 01:24 AM my camaro rs would not start , at first it would after trying over and over, eventualy it wouldn't start at all. I took the car to a mechanic they charged me a bunch of money replaced the computer, the fuel injectors, all kinds of bullshit that worked for a couple days. then i had the same problem. I found this web site and after looking through thousands of these discussions, some body told me to check the chip in the key to see if it was connecting, and it wasn't, so I was told to take a diode that measured the same amount of OHMS as the chip in the key, and connect it to two wires in an orange sleve at the bottom of the steering column. which would connect the two and compllete a circuit. which worked for a while but one day the car died and still will not startso i am still looking for answers. but it did work for a while here's how I did it 1. I took the chip out of the key 2. connect one of the wires in the sleve to each side (be creative) but.... do not harm the chip....
