Low Battery Alarm on New Batteryjimb49 07-20-2005, 07:57 PM We had a low battery indicator while driving cross country. We took it in and had checks of charging system and battery and all was normal. I replaced the battery anyway because it was 5 years old, however, we still get a low battery warning light and alarm. Any suggestions other than taking it in for another round of diagnositcs? Thanks It indicates a charging system problem not just a low battery. Check your serpentive drive belt and make sure its not loose. After that you're probably looking at replacing the alternator which has the voltage regulator built in. JTrujillo86 07-23-2005, 01:07 AM These are very prone to alternator problems around 40-70K miles...that's probably your issue. Jeremy jimb49 07-23-2005, 10:47 AM Thank you for your replies. The problem was resolved. JTrujillo86 07-23-2005, 02:12 PM What did it turn out to be? Jeremy jimb49 07-24-2005, 09:47 PM A technician found a loose set of wires that were not seated in the connectors all the way???? Unlike 30 years ago half the stuff under the hood is a mystery to me. We thought there might be a reset switch and were really surprised at having a fuse box on the driver side and under the hood! JTrujillo86 07-25-2005, 12:30 AM ...To add to that confusion, there is also a fuse box on the passenger side of the dash as well... Jeremy vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
