i have just recently bought a 1997 SOHC neon and am wondering what kind of intake i should buy. i am thinking about either AEM or K&N. which is better for this car, or is there a more suitable brand?

The Iceman intake is the best one for the 95-99 neon if you want a brand name or you can make your own CAI with a 3.0L intake tube.

whats cai and how do you make it?CAI stands for cold air intake. The HP gains are real similiar to the Iceman intake for about 1/4 the price. Here is the link to a how to.

thanks alot. that sounds like a good saturday project. do you think that i would be better off using the factory tube from the car or cut it in half and put the pipe in the middle. on the link there were pics of both and they each looked like they would be perfect

If you only have one you probably won't need to cut the tube. Try it without the tube then if it doesn't fit, cut away.
