Can anyone tell me how to get the turn signal/wiper/cruise control lever out of my 1986 S-10 Blazer? I can tell that when you insert the new switch it snaps into place, but I can't figure out how to get the old one out? Thanks...

Went through the same thing with my '85. I am doing a resto on the interior and tore down the steering column (to repaint the column pieces and replace the multi-function lever). I ended up removing the entire switch assembly and found out in order to remove/replace the multi-function switch you simply pull it out. It's apparently held in place with a snap spring that catches an indent in the metal stem of the lever. Simply grab the lever firmly and pull it straight out.
