2002 grand prix fuel filter installationcbirmingham 07-20-2005, 12:49 AM I have to install a fuel filter on my 2002 grand prix this weekend, and I don't have time to order a manual(I live in BFE). I was wondering if anyone knew how to change it out, where exactly it is located, what tools I need, etc. I know it is alot to ask, but if someone could help me out I would really appreciate it. Its located underneath on the driver's side. Checkout the following link. Jack up your car and put in an extra jack stand. Make sure no chance that your car will drop while your shoulder or head is underneath... 2. Release the fuel pressure at the pin hole in fuel pressure regulator near the upper intake manifold 3. Lose the metal filter bracket with 13mm? hex wrench. 4. Spray the compressed nut on metal-fuel rail side of fuel filter with PB Blaster and wipe if clean if you see rust on it. My car's is rusted and was difficult with my wrench. 5. Use 2 (8') open-end wrench (1 on the compressed nut and 1 on the filter's hex end). Pull the cmpressed nut toward you while maintaining the other wrench stationary. 6. Place you oil pan underneath once the gas starts to leak... 7. Squeeze the white-tap on the plaster-side to dislodge the fuel filter. 8. The new filter should be direct replacement. BNaylor 07-20-2005, 12:16 PM A word of caution. Never do any work on the fuel system without first disconnecting the battery. Good luck! http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y186/lizzywiz/gtp.jpg Thrasher CAI, DHP v1.0 PCM, 3.25 SC pulley, CAIT GMAF, Hi-Flow CAT, u-bend delete, 160 TS, ZZP Stage 1 TB, TB spacer, MSD 8.5mm wires, Autolite 104s, Goodyear Gatorback Serp. & SC Belt, Nitto NT555R Drag Radials vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
