o/t need to vent damaged truck tonight dmbrisket 51 07-19-2005, 04:32 AM
so me n' my cousin and our buddie nick were in my uncles shop tonight, taken the wheel spacers off my dime and lowering it 5'' front 6'' back, got the front done and decided because my cousin has to be to work in 5 hours well wait till tomorrow to do the back, the kit is comen off of a 91 and goin to my 98 and then my stock suspention is going onto the 91 for its new owners... anywayse, looked awsome in the front, put the *brand new from tire store* lug nuts on the wheels, got it off the hoist, backed out, didnt even make it 40 feet and BOOM front tire fell off, but to my luck it didnt hit the ground and scratch up, it stuck under the fender, bending it up and in, bending the rim and ripping the corner off of my fiberglass body kit. Looked at the studs nice n close, then at the lug nuuts, the tire shop sold me 1/2"-20 nuts, OUR TRUCKS ARE FUCKING METRIC!!!!!!! Im just pissed that ive had the truck back seince friday, and i told a shop that does tires and suspenion componets only, that i needed lug nuts and a lock kit for my s 10 and they gave me a fucking AES kit, i think im calling the shop up at 8 this mornen to discribe *our* little problem, because im blameing them for the probibly close to 1500 in damage to the truck, needs a new fender, whole new body kit (never been able to find just one side skirt) new tire for sure, and possibly a new rim, the balence will tell me that tomorrow... thanks for listening, any one who did, ill update later jackass#1 07-19-2005, 07:01 AM thats fucked up. i dont blame you for being pissed. you figure they would at least of all things give the right lug nuts. that is not just a mistake thats a major fuck up. is this your project truck with the motor swap youve been working on? and the same one that had the messed up body work and paint? what ever happened, with that, did you take it back in and get the paint and body done again? i tell you what these guys owe you big time. dont let them weasel their way out of it. they fucked up they need to fix their fuck up and the fuck up their fuck up made. dmbrisket 51 07-19-2005, 11:59 AM yes, this is the project truck, it went back into body shop, and it came out friday and sat over the weekend, first time driven it was last night to uncles shop, moters not ready, im broke from spending all money on paint, and now, i may have to come up with more, ima drill um, but who knows where thats going to get some 18 year old punk OverBoardProject 07-19-2005, 05:33 PM Shitty! That sucks, and the worst possible timing at that. There is a small chance that the bodykit manufactor might sell you just the parts that you need, but you'll have to talk to the manufactor not the local shops. Good luck with everything. dmbrisket 51 07-19-2005, 06:00 PM no idea who the manufacturor is, bought it off e bay, it arrived in unmarked boxes, no papper work, this is my excuse to get the expencive as shit xeon kit, being long box the box skirts wont work, but the cab and air dam will lol... the way it looks right now every thing is going to be taken care of, perfect time, think im going to try n get that 350 in if i can come up with the lute, otherwise, yet another re paint and back to where it is now jackass#1 07-19-2005, 06:31 PM you say it was your uncles shop? if so see if he cant go with you to let the dickheads know what they fucked up. with you being 18 they may try and get one over on you, but with older and a shop owner your uncle could probably help out. dmbrisket 51 07-19-2005, 09:08 PM was the uncles shop, me n' my cousin have become like brothers, but me n' the rest of the family dont get along with the uncle much, never see him type thing, and hes usually not to happy with us useing his shop after hours, like we keep the radio down, the overhad door that faces his house is closed, and when the door shuts behing you, grab it so he dont hear us over there... but as of now ins. is working with me, so well see how that goes OverBoardProject 07-20-2005, 03:35 AM Talk to your insurance co and make sure that your rates don't go up. At least not too much. They really should pay for the damage, and ding the company that got you the wrong lug nuts. At least that's my opinion. Good Luck with everything Doug! I hope that it all works out for you. Too bad about your uncle not being the nicest guy. I've got this little agreement with mine (a cabinat maker) where he can use my tools, and vice versa. Although he lives 2 hours away. (this makes it easy when either of us do work on the road) Plus all my air tools have the same fittings as my mechanic friends so we can swap air tools when needed too. (he has more mechanics tools and I have an ever increasing supply of autobody tools) Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
