I am assuming the exaust manifold.Oh your catalytic converter is bad, is this right? timguyli 07-18-2005, 02:42 PM the exact phrase was, the converter on the manifold is bad. I guess thats the cat ugh das2123 07-18-2005, 02:50 PM the exact phrase was, the converter on the manifold is bad. I guess thats the cat ughI would think then that they are referring to the Catalytic converter which connects to your exhaust manifold. The amount of money to fix should not be more than $200. Yo can buy the replacement converter for about about $65-$80 and you can have a shop weld it on for about $20-$30. That is what I would do. timguyli 07-18-2005, 03:03 PM ahh ok. Where is a good source for replacements? Thanks! das2123 07-18-2005, 03:08 PM ahh ok. Where is a good source for replacements? Thanks! You can get one from retail parts stores, like Autozone and NAPA, but if you aren't in a hurry get one from Modern Performance. Their website is www.modernperformance.com . You can get one pretty cheap from them and it will even flow a little better. Here is a link to the Magnaflow converter that they sell http://www.modernperformance.com/all/magnaflow_high_flow_catalytic_covert.shtml TEXSRT4 07-21-2005, 09:42 PM a 2000 is an OBDII car, which means you need to get an OBDII compliant cat, or have another o2 bung welded into your exhaust post cat. i dont know NY smog laws, but i know here in cali, you have to buy a real cat in order to pass smog, and a repalcement one will run you around $200. check with the local laws before spending ANY money, you dont want to have to do it again vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
