I was told the converter in the manifold is bad on my 2000 neon. Any idea on how much this is to fix?

I was told the converter in the manifold is bad on my 2000 neon. Any idea on how much this is to fix?What converter on what manifold? I don't know much about the 2000 and up neons.

Hmmm All I know I was told there is a Cat mounted to the manifold. I am assuming the exaust manifold.

The amount of money to fix should not be more than $200. Yo can buy the replacement converter for about about $65-$80
and you can have a shop weld it on for about $20-$30. That is what I would do.

a 2000 is an OBDII car, which means you need to get an OBDII compliant cat, or have another o2 bung welded into your exhaust post cat. i dont know NY smog laws, but i know here in cali, you have to buy a real cat in order to pass smog, and a repalcement one will run you around $200. check with the local laws before spending ANY money, you dont want to have to do it again
