1999 GA Cuts-Off when foot released from Accelarator

Hi-new to forum-wondering if any experienced this problem:When I tried to start my car it did start-but when I released my foot from the accelarator it just cut off-after having the car towed I was told I needed an Idle Control, and a MAS-and the charges total around $500-$600...does this sound right to anyone out there

well, the IAC [idle air control] sounds right, the MAS [mass air sensor] possible. Not positive, but an IAC runs around a hundred, so does the MAS.

However, you can likely replace them yourself. Unplug a harness, undo a couple torx-screws and put new controls in.
