1989 Rolla DX Q's looking for A's

hey guys, im new to this kind of stuff, and i was just wondering some stuff. I just got a '89 rolla DX a few days ago, and think i want to mod the junk out of it. anyways, im thinking, and ive heard good reviews of the 4AGZE engines... and i was wondering if its possible to swap the stock engine with a 4AGZE ( by the way, i dont even know what the stock engine is, but its carburated) and i was thinking of replacing the tranny too because ive heard that a 4AGZE can ruin other corolla trannys if a turbo is installed, and the 2nd gear is literally gone.... so i was thinking of getting EVERYTHING i need for the 4AGZE (electronics, a new manual tranny etc etc.) so basically, it boils down to this, i want to throw in a 4AGZE engine with a new 5 speed tranny, and turbo charge it which would leave my car twin charged (a stock supercharger comes with a 4AGZE engine if im not mistaken) and ready to cruise. Then ill worry about the more minor engine mods and do something to make the body look more appealing.... are my dreams possible and will it be easy if i get all the required resources? anyways, thanks for your help.

P.S. anyone that knows where i can find aftermarket body mods or performance mods for my car, PLEASE feel free to shout them out, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks again.

hi,

wellfor starters, your car is carburated,so it gets complicated...

so you need :

--engine 4agze.. if you ever get a chance to fin one.. let alone buy it. and if it's in good shape. as well as
the supercharger.. which can cost a fortune to rebuilt.. turbo it instead ? good luck.. this is gonna cost big bucks.

--tranny : if its a mr2 s/c engine you MIGHT be able to fit it.. but it won't be easy... as the shift link goes onto the back of the car, well your tranny will be in front...and the mounts dont necessarily go bolt in since this is from a rear engine car.

-- EFI system: your gonna need the ECU wiring loom, even the key ignition and toehr things from a corolla GTS not the mr2.. like i said, engine in back and you have engine in front.... just the ecu and wiring loom will NOT cost 50$.. plus you will need the whole fuel tank assembly from a gts again...with the fuel lines and pray that they are NOT so rusted.. coze your fuel line are not made to withstand the superior fuel pressure from a EFI..

and you will need TIME... this won't take a week..

so you need a gts donor car and a 4agze from a mr2sc or a sprinter in japan

all of this is gonna cost you MORE than finding a decent 1991 corolla GTS and tweaking it.

Welcome to reality.
