Runout on Rotors

I was woundering whether you guys could answer some questions on 1998 Chevy Tahoe.

I bought the truck in may or june of '04 and it is a great truck. I've replaced the brakes and rotors about 100 times. This truck eats brakes :mad:

How do i check the runout on the rotors?

Whats wrong with my truck to make them eat brakes? What should i do to fix this


ALSO I HAVE ADJUSTED THEM AND THAT DIDN'T HELP

How do the rears wear? I have found that the self-adjusting rears are not that self adjusting.

Every tire rotation, I adjust the rear drum brakes. You want some drag when you spin the drum or tire.

Something to look at and what I just added to my 99 Tahoe was drilled rotors with ceramic pads. These things are awesome. Since we cannot advertise on here, send me a PM if interested and I will give you a link to a machine shop that does awesome work.

I've done all of your suggestions before and it doesn't help. Think i will take it to a garage.

I have a 97 that eats front brakes also....
Rears are adjusted fine; found the best(longest lasting approach approximately 20 to 25K miles per brake job) is to replace the front pads with factory GM pads(acceptable levels of dusting) and replace the calipers and slides each time with aftermarket...calipers are around $15.00; slides are $8.00. Also try Brembo rotors for $50.00 ea.
