took my eclipse to the mitsubishi shop....this is what they found:

head gaskets were leaking and therefore it's burning oil.....
timing belt needs to be replaced...
also said the car had very little power..........

i am quite new with cars.....let along a sports one

how many head gaskets does the eclipse have......... and any general ideas why it doesn't have power.......thanks so much in advance

A leaky head gasket making the engine burn oil? I've never heard of that... but then again, I dont know much about DSM's and their engines. As far as your power loss; what kind of Eclipse do you have (you should put your year, model, and modifications in your signature)?

all eclipse/talons are 4 cylinder and have 1 headgasket. it wouldn't be burning oil from a leaky headgasket, it would be burning oil from leaky rings. the leaky headgasket would be causing a loss of power because of lost compression.
