Opinion's on the new RSX Type-SGOD 07-20-2001, 02:56 AM Well recently I went up to my local acura dealership and they just got the new rsx's in and one Type S model . My very first thought on the car was I like the front end but the rim's and the back of the car have to go . The seat's inside of this car are so damn awesome there leather bucket seat's . The interior is looking pretty futuristic and pretty nice . Now as far as power and everything i've seen time's for the Rsx Type S to be around 6.1 and 14.8 and compared to the ITR 6.2 and 14.7 there basically identical as far as numbers go . Now I hope to god that they do make the Type R for the Rsx b/c i've heard rumors of 220 bhp and brembo brakes and recaro seats . But those are just rumors ....it's still a pretty nice car and I'm pretty sure that the aftermarket for this car will be pretty big early next yr . enzo@af 07-20-2001, 02:01 PM My first thought on seeing an RSX was...."Wow, that thing reminds me a lot of my Paseo". I was, as you could imagine, EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! Sure, the performance is okay, but the looks are too damh blah. DVSNCYNIKL 07-20-2001, 02:03 PM I would get one. Jay! 07-23-2001, 12:36 AM I'd get one, too, but maybe not this year. kenchan 07-23-2001, 12:32 PM hey dudes, I'm planning to get one next summer. I was thinking I should get a 4dr sedan like the IS300, but man, the price on these tegs (oops, rsx's) are just too damn cheap. :D huge bang for the buck. only like $26K for the typeS with factory aero parts. I'm gonna wait a year just to be sure that the typeR doesn't come out. sucks if it does come out a week after I buy a typeS. hehehe. :D also gonna put on some TEIN RA's probably (when available) with upper pillows along with SSR wheels and S02's. probably gonna keep the intake/exhaust stock as I'm only gonna be driving it on the streets. maybe exhaust, we'll see. :D gonna probably drive my dressedup 98lude to work, give my G20 to my wife and sell the civic. it's gonna be another exciting year next year. hehehehee!!! 0805041605 08-03-2001, 12:02 AM im just hoping to have to money (if a type-r comes our way) when im out of art school. hell, maybe i could get hired by honda's design team for the next one, maybe... Adam 08-10-2001, 07:10 PM looks so nice. gotta have a desert silver metallic w/ spoiler and front and rear spoilers w/ side skirts and optional wheels and get teh car cover and wheel locks and.. that's all for now. ;) juicedRSXtype-s 08-21-2001, 04:01 AM :finger: Bad ass car. Already got a sponsor, and havent even had the car a whole week. The type-s is already fast but i am curently having a turbo and headers made for it.:finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: Jay! 08-21-2001, 04:03 AM Originally posted by juicedRSXtype-s Already got a sponsor...For racing, perhaps? F20C 08-21-2001, 04:15 AM I am sorry but RSX Type R will defitnitely make it to North American shores. rickl730 08-28-2001, 01:10 PM hey juiced? I have one too! Where are they going to fit the turbo without moding the hood? Under the hood it major packed in. juicedRSXtype-s 08-28-2001, 04:50 PM I was thinking the same. I don't know where they are going to put it, not much room to play around with. I will inform everyone when the turbo is avilable or when I find out more. F20C 08-28-2001, 11:41 PM There is already a Turbocharger that puts out 320 whp that's close to completition. F20C 08-28-2001, 11:42 PM If you want to turbocharged the car with big boost it is better if you bought the lower compression base model to start with. juicedRSXtype-s 08-29-2001, 02:00 AM Who makes this turbo? Is this 320hp total with thr RSX type-s or just RSX. So if its for the Type-s, your saying it will give you 120hp? That sounds pretty high, but would definately be nice. Dave:confused: F20C 08-29-2001, 03:39 AM The turbocharger specs are for base model. Type S have way too high compression to put big amount of boost. They would have to lower the compression first before anything. Jynetix 11-13-2001, 10:54 AM all of you should buy this car...if itz not for you, then neither is performance driving!!!:flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: Pharty012 11-18-2001, 11:57 PM BUT!!!!!!! the rsx regular doesn't have a 6speed on it now does it??? is it hard to go from a type S reduce the compression ratio and then turbo it??? seems more logical since you'll be gettin the more fun 6speed tranny... Jynetix 11-19-2001, 10:05 AM Ahhh, your point regarding the base RSX is well noted; however, I went with the type-S:smoker2: deadlock 11-19-2001, 04:44 PM I got the FirePepper Red RSX Type-S with Titanium Leather interior and it is great! The six speed tranny is unreal. I like the seats so much better than the Type-R's suade. I like the way it looks kinda a sleeper, it doesn't have pull me over written all over it but put your foot in it and hit the curves and look out. Congrats too everyone else who got one too. I can't wait to see the aftermarket scene for this car. With the I-VTEC you get a nice smooth HP curve which is a pleasant change from last years type R which had no legs until you got up into the VTEC. The new stainless borla exaust sound pretty good. Turbo magazine dyno'd it on the Type-S check this out: The Borla system shows improvement everywhere you look throughout the powerband. Peak power checks in at 176.6 (at the wheels), an 12.7-horse improvement over stock. Torque jumped from 123.0 to 130.8 lbs-ft. Also of note is the aggressive jump as the iVTEC effect hits at about 5,700 rpm. This surge of power is much more apparent than previous VTEC engines and can really be felt in the cockpit. The Borla exhaust is constructed of T-304 stainless steel and features 2.5-inch diameter piping, mandrel bends throughout and a straight-through muffler design. The system is terminated with a polished rolled tip that looks right at home on the Acura and sounds better. :grey: :alien: :grey: :alien: :grey: :alien: :grey: :alien: :grey: :alien: Jynetix 11-19-2001, 05:22 PM And the borla exhaust doesn't void your warranty!!! juicedRSXtype-s 11-20-2001, 12:28 AM A couple different mags did dyno's on the Injen short ram intake and they all got 15-18hp. Everybody seems pretty impressed with it. That intake with the Borla exhaust would be a pretty nice combo. For all you RSX owners, check out www.clubrsx.com Jynetix 11-20-2001, 09:20 AM ok...for all of you other RSX Type-S owners...how would you like 300hp without even putting in a turbo? Mouth watering? See the attached picture. :bloated: Pharty012 11-20-2001, 05:01 PM tell me these sights of these pics and all this info your guys are gettin please! Pharty012 11-20-2001, 06:00 PM haha almost too good to be true huh.... HAHA! WhiteRabbit 11-22-2001, 09:32 PM Well, last weekend I finally took the S out for a spin. I loved it. I feel the car is absolutely perfect. So I bought one (Black), and it will be in soon (anticipation is killin me). It gets an average fuel milage of 27.1, which is superb with this type of performance. Honda is god in the automotive world. They are #1 (Yep, I'm a fanboy!). I liked the fact that the car has a conservative, mature styling. Also the engine is great, the 6 speed tranny is awesome. It took me a little bit of time behind the wheel to get used to that sixth gear! I took the car out on the interstate and was shifting through the tranny, and I was looking for the next gear, when I realized I was already in sixth, and I was doing 85mph. Man this thing is smooth. Also the interior ergo's are superb. The car is perfect IMHO. I would like to add the OEM body kit, tinted windows and OEM spoiler at some point. Probably after I pay most of it off.:D Type S 01-24-2004, 09:01 AM Lower this car a couple inchs, nice set of wheels, and a body kit and you have got your self a bad ass looking car. Very nice. ghetto7o2azn 01-24-2004, 05:40 PM lol under "greddy" it says "intercooled turbo" and it looks like a turbo right above the engine to me vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
