$3500.00 Bullit Mustang upgradeFerrari 308 02-04-2001, 08:15 PM Well, as some of you know, there is a movie called "Bullit" starring Steve McQueen. In the movie he drives a 1968 Ford Mustang, and recently, Ford has introduced a package of the Bullit Mustang option, that will be placed onto a Mustang GT. The car is dark green as it was way back when the movie was shown, and it also has Magnum 500 rims. In early February of 2000, my dad and I saw this car at the San Diego Auto Show at the convention center. Of course then it was referred to as a "concept" but it still looked great. The price tag for the option is $3500.00, so it's not cheap, but it looks nice. Ferrari 308 MrCorvetteZ06 02-05-2001, 08:25 PM Are there any performance uprgades for the bullit?? I have heard of them, but nothing reall in-depth. Ferrari 308 02-05-2001, 10:04 PM Actually, I think it's just available on the GT model. So I'm sure you could add your own modifications, or you could probably buy the Bullit option, then take it to Saleen and get their turbocharged S351 engine. So if you really wanted too, I think you could modify the engine, but I don't think Ford offers any upgrades in the Bullit Option :( They should though ;) Ferrari honda_guy 04-05-2001, 06:02 PM If Ford stays true to the original, then it would only be a GT under the looks package. The original was just a GT, a High Performance 390 w/335hp, but still just a GT. Ferrari 308 04-21-2001, 07:55 PM We'll see... I haven't heard much about them lately, so hopefully there will be more information soon :). Ferrari Muscle Car 06-03-2004, 01:56 PM As some of you may have found out by now the Bullit Mustang has a number of options not available on the GT. It features a more free flowing intake manifold and a larger, dual chambered throttle body. It also has a free flowing exhaust system designed for scavenging a few extra ponies and to produce a slightly more aggresive exhaust note. The end result is around 280 hp, a 20 hp gain over the stock GT. While the exhaust system is nothing revolutionary, the most remarkable is the intake manifold and throttle body as neither is available through aftermarket companies. As a matter of fact I don't believe there are any companies producing intake manifolds for the '99 & up 4.6 liter modular V8. Another interesting fact is that in addition to a number of other dress up items, billet aluminum accents in the interior and an aluminum gas tank cover, it also has upgraded suspension and Brembo brakes. These features make this car both visually striking and a joy to drive. Cobra01TT 06-03-2004, 09:56 PM Dude, don't drag up 3 year old topics.
