I have a 94 Blazer. I bought it and the speedometer does not function properly. It goes from 0 to 80 sometimes and others it stays pinned on 0. It is not a digital dash it a standard dash. my oil pressure works fine ,volts ok, temp,ok ... It does not have the cable it is a plug in. Is there a component that runs the speed or has anyone else had this problem. It is driving me crazy. Please help any one

The easiest fix for you would prolly be to go to a salvage yard and find a compatible guage cluster, and just replace the whole thing. Easiest way to do it as far as I know. Should cost under $50. Peace-

I pretty sure the speedometer runs off of a VSS (Vehicle speed Sensor) on the tail shaft of the transmission.

Check to make sure the connection is clean and connected properly and maybe replace it.

OOOOOOOOO yea. Stupid mistake on my part. Would suck to go and replace the guage cluster and still not have the damn thing work. Props to LT on that. Peace-

Good that you asked though.

Smart man really. Most people would just jump in before doing some research.
