Left the car running all night, ABS light won't go away!

Hello,

I have a Pontiac Grand AM SE 1993. Few days ago, I went grocery shopping with my Pontiac. I came home and unloaded the groceries from my car. Problem is, I was absent-minded and forgot to turn the ignition off. Only in the morning when I needed my car, I realized this blunder. In other words, THE ENGINE OF MY PONTIAC WAS ON THE WHOLE NIGHT!!!

In the morning, the gas tank was practically empty, so I had it filled. Now my problem is that the ABS light comes, and stays on the dashboard. When I turn the engine off, and then back on, everything is fine, but after a while, the ABS light returns. I checked the car in terms of fluid levels, and everything seems fine. Please tell me why this light is coming on, and what repairs should be done (if needed). Thank you for your understanding and guidance.

My experience so far is that the ABS light acts as a dummy light also.
Sounds like you will have to get a scan tool on the data port and see what error codes come back.

I'd go with Cad on this. Just cuz the car ran all all night is not a reason for an actual ABS trigger, it likely a fault.

quite often a loose wire at the sensor on the wheel will trip the light..

wow...that wasn't too smooth there buddy...and i'm going with these guys and saying it's a fault....nothing wrong with your brakes or anything, although i don't know what would trigger that fault if it was just sitting stationary all night... :dunno:
