2.4L beats 3.1L in Stand still take off, but...

Me and two of my buddies went to Marshall (Minnasota) and we were in a grand prix with a 3.1L in it and the driver of the GP drives like 75 all the time. Well we met this guy in a 2.4L z24 cav. and we looked at him....we just kept staring until (this was really weird too) we like hit the gas at the same time and the 3.1 walked away from it doing about 70MPH. then we stopped at a parking lot and he followed us...and he was a nice guy...we talked for a while and we wanted to race him froma 0MPH start....(no sure if it was a quarter mile, might have been more)..but he took us by quite a bit...but then i could tell at about 60 or so we we were gaining him....it was really cool....i hated thoes 4's so much but now i can see that they have alot of get-and-go to them...but i had to tell that story just cause it was fun racin them.

Todays lesson never under estimate a japanese engineer, yes the cavy isn't japanese but there is a reason, more than one even, why they use alot of 4 bangers or even make em.

in response to this.. alot mind you has to do with the trans. if one is auto they have a huge dissadvantage... but ya .. i had raced a 2000 cavalier when i had my beretta gt 3.1 5spd .. (older gen 3.1) and that cavy took me on the straight but when we both hit the hill i walked right by him.. so they both have thier advantages... you wont see a car towing a boat with a 4 cyl or at least alot less common than using a 6

haha, yeah, thats true...i read in the manual that you are not even supposed to pull a boat with the 4's engine....and the weight to the V6 is about like the weight of a personal watercraft....we used to pull one a long time ago with our buick century....also that had the 3300 in it.
