93 jgc 4wd-6cyl-still wont start-HELP PLEASEmjsjeep 06-30-2005, 10:55 AM I posted about replacing the following on my jeep, THIS WEEK: crank and cam position sensors, ignition coil, alternator, complete tune up. It still won't start. after the IC was replaced it fired once and gurgled in the engine and died. It was flooded, so I replaced the plugs after blowing out the excess fuel. The fuel pump works (tests at 40 pounds). What do I do next??? I am at a loss here. Please help me. Thanks. And the plugs are getting sparks. I just don't know what to do. dksob81 06-30-2005, 02:58 PM well the nxt thing would be air. try holding the pedal down a lil bit and see if it start, you might want to pull the Fuel Pump relay and try starting it a coupl etimes, it might still be flooded, after a few cranks it should start and will run for a second or 2 then die again just do this a couple times and reinsert the Fuel Pump relay, prime the lines (turn key to the ON position) and try to restart the engine. mjsjeep 06-30-2005, 03:20 PM well the nxt thing would be air. try holding the pedal down a lil bit and see if it start, you might want to pull the Fuel Pump relay and try starting it a coupl etimes, it might still be flooded, after a few cranks it should start and will run for a second or 2 then die again just do this a couple times and reinsert the Fuel Pump relay, prime the lines (turn key to the ON position) and try to restart the engine. Yep. Did that too. It wouldn't go. I pulled the plugs out and cranked just to push some of the excess fuel out. The put them back and still nothing. Someone told me the rings might need a drop or two of oil in the plug holes to lube them up again, it that a good or bad idea? Thanks dksob81 06-30-2005, 05:00 PM is not a bad idea, you could put a table spoon of oil in each cylinder hole (thru the spark plug holes). I doubt if that is going to do anything tho, but it just might. The engine does crank (turn over), right? gunjes 06-30-2005, 07:56 PM Are you sure the cam is turning? corebuyer 07-30-2005, 04:05 PM i recently purchased a 1993 grand cherokee that a rat had chewed the wiring to pieces replaced everything i could think of no help somebody befor me replaced the battery cable and did not attach the little groud wire from the cable grounded the wire and runs like a new one :):) always check the obvoius first :):):) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
