hey guys, i have a 94 honda civic sedan vti (ex)
when i bought the car, it came with a 2.5" pipe underneath. the exhaust is loud, i tried changing the muffler to a more quieter one, but after a month, it started sounding crap, thers a annoying sound after a few weeks which that starts to make a flapping noise when accelerating and even on idle.

the 2.5 inch pipe is from the muffler to the cat converter, i can see the old stock pipe which is then welding on to the 2.5".
is the stock pipe is 2.25".

cause im thinking to changing the pipe back to stock size, should i buy a used honda civic pipe from a wrecker or go to a exhaust shop and buy a new 2.25" pipe and muffler, can u guys give me advice to what should i ask the shop, cause me might give me a crappy pipe which starts to make holes quickly.

when in the car, u can feel the vibrations of the pipe, and i just dont want any exhaust sporty sound anymore, especially when my car is auto.
i know that the headers of the car is stock. if i do change the pipe back to the normal size, will the exhaust sound be back to the stock level.

please anyone, cause im really gettiing fed up or the noise my muffler makes.

thanks
shaun

it will be quiet because there wont be asmuch airflow going through...but your probably gonna lose a few HP's... and also.. its not going to be as quiet as stock unless you have the stock muffler... cause its mainly the muffler that changes the sound

find the oem b pipe on ebay. a quiet oem spec muffler can easily be found at your local automotiveparts store or your local exhaust shop. just have them weld it on.

but how muc hp, will i notice it, plus i dont really care much about performance, i just wanna changed and wait a year so i can get a HRV or A JAZZ (Fit)

im from australia so the jazz is already here, the muffler i have now is quiet long so it did quieten the sound abit than my last muffler but not as much, but are exhaust pipes the same, or could a shop give me a crap one which can get holes quickly

can some one tell me how to post an audio clip of the sound of my exhaust on idle and when reving it,

my previous muffler had the same sound, its not quite the same real life but has the annoying and embarrasing sound, i just close me windows cause i can hear it in the drivers seat.

is it cause the mufflers (they are just ordinary mufflers) with a tip, a pointy tip, not one with a curve.

93civchatch, u said that it wont be as low as the stock muffler, but will the sound attract people, cause id rather not. as long as its really quiet
