I just got a rebuilt set of heads on, and it runs OK, but I think the timing is too far retarded. What's the procedure to set it, or does the computer do it all? If so, where do I set the distributor?

Buy a Haynes Manual for about $12 bucks and look at the procedure.

If you feel comfortable that you have the skills to do it then go to the local parts store and get a timing light through their rental dept. They are usally free and you just have to leave a refundable depost.

Or you could take it to a shop and they should be able to do it for about an hour's worth of labor.

You really need to get the timing set correctly as it will affect the performance of the car and how the computer reacts
