Not really common, A/C drain hole beneath the condensor can get clogged and leak water into the car.

More common would be a bad heater core.

I've got the air conditioner flooding the passenger floorboards as well. Where is the drain hole (and/or rubber outlet valve) that gets plugged up (on condensor?)? I have the GM factory manual set but could never locate a diagram of this. Also, If this were a problem with the heater core wouldn't it create a problem with the heater as well?

Hard to diagnose over the computer but if the heater core is the problem, if your car has antifreeze in it, you will have that "sweet" smell in the car. Just stick your nose close to the carpet and smell.........does it smell like antifreeze? If not it's probably just the a/c. Also, do you just get water when you run the air or all the time. A bad heater core will leak all of the time.

I'm sure it's not the heater core, no antifreeze smell, have experienced that before. and i only get it when the air is on, the car has a musty odor init. so now where might this plug be? I found someshere that there is an outlet on the firewall pass. side that sticks out about an inch, is this the only one?

The factory forgot to put drain elbows on some B bodies-- check your drain for a 1 inch rubber elboe-- without it air pressure will cause the water to back up inside and wet the floor- especially if you drive for extended periods without stopping........
