New kid in town...DukeMan 06-28-2005, 07:08 PM Hi AF: ers! My name is Fredrik, Iīm 16 y o and I live in Sweden. Kind of a newbie to this part of the Art-forums, been around for some time in the modelling forum. Drawing cars have always been a passion of mine and itīs about time I show you guys some of my work. Theyīre not that good, but Iīm learning. I recently started practicing pinstriping (very inspired by KustmAceīs work), I find it quite dificult to come up with good looking designs but I guess itīs just part of the training. When it comes to drawing cars, getting the wheels right is without a doubt the hardest part IMO. Along came a Hotrod: http://img257.echo.cx/img257/7020/dsc045141op.th.jpg (http://img257.echo.cx/my.php?image=dsc045141op.jpg) http://img257.echo.cx/img257/8260/dsc045162ku.th.jpg (http://img257.echo.cx/my.php?image=dsc045162ku.jpg) http://img257.echo.cx/img257/4640/dsc045449qf.th.jpg (http://img257.echo.cx/my.php?image=dsc045449qf.jpg) http://img257.echo.cx/img257/2614/dsc057624li.th.jpg (http://img257.echo.cx/my.php?image=dsc057624li.jpg) This is the sketch that started my model car project (see my sig): http://img257.echo.cx/img257/7500/dsc047058yt.th.jpg (http://img257.echo.cx/my.php?image=dsc047058yt.jpg) http://img257.echo.cx/img257/4605/dsc057657tx.th.jpg (http://img257.echo.cx/my.php?image=dsc057657tx.jpg) http://img257.echo.cx/img257/4299/dsc057664wg.th.jpg (http://img257.echo.cx/my.php?image=dsc057664wg.jpg) As I said, getting the wheels right is a BITCH! Feedback and constructive critisism is much apreciated! subyfanatic 06-28-2005, 10:10 PM You're doing great at your age. Maybe you should attempt outlining with drawing pens then coloring them in. Keep up the nice work. :bigthumb: MaxD3 06-29-2005, 01:20 AM What the hell do you mean your not that good? Those are great, makes my drawings look like crap lol bonzelite 06-29-2005, 03:56 AM welcome to the party. you are good. try drawing with your WHOLE arm to make strokes. you are currently using your wrist only. follow-through before and after contact with the paper using the entire side of your body, primarily the forearem and hand. with wheels, my god, man, use a template. there is an art to using the template. learn it. drawing ellipses freehand is great training, and should be done. but for speed and accuracy, use the ellipse guides. buy a big set of them. they are your friend. you draw pretty good at this point. lostprophets 06-29-2005, 02:38 PM hey man those are pretty good... i noticed that you do a little bit of shading on your wheels and i think if you could do that on the rest of the car it would make your drawings alot better 97_sho 06-29-2005, 02:53 PM :eek7: not good? those are great knightvision 06-29-2005, 03:02 PM Great drawings, great perspective, shading will come with time, great english imo. You got skills! There may are less guys around here who drew at this level as they were at your age. e.g. me. Welcome to the forums! DukeMan 07-07-2005, 12:28 PM Thanks everyone for the kind replies, Iīll try to shade my drawings a bit more in the future, great tip thanks. Not sure where Iīll find templates for ellipses, I thought using templates was considered "cheating" :grinno: GirlBear 07-07-2005, 04:19 PM Welcome. I dig ur artwork. Too many to pick a fav. Sit down settle in to the coolest forum on the web. Every body here is cool and real talented so you are in the right place Roboduck 07-09-2005, 10:08 AM DukeMan... very impressive stuff, for your age. As the others said, clean, full lines, use elliptical guides (get them at any art supply store) and practice, practice, practice. You are on your way... welcome.
