d.i.y. c.a.i.scarecrow0529 06-28-2005, 05:17 PM can you guys give me a link or something on how to build your own cold air intake for a 92 sc2 sierrap615 06-29-2005, 01:53 AM sorry i have no link, all i can saw is look closely at some CAI pictures online for the 91-99 DOHC engines. then go to a hardware store, buy some PVC piping and have at it. scarecrow0529 06-29-2005, 12:40 PM i thought pvc was a bad thing to use because when it heats up it gives off toxic fumes. sierrap615 06-29-2005, 11:25 PM that i have not heard, many people use it. Tylerc161 07-01-2005, 01:06 PM give me a weekend or so, and ill get pics up of mine. i used nothing but PVC.. it dosent smell, and it takes to heat better then metal, thus, keeping the pipe cool scarecrow0529 07-18-2005, 06:20 PM i would really like to see those. if you are not dead than what i heard was wrong. so now i want to do it. thanx scarecrow0529 07-21-2005, 02:16 PM hey do you have those pics yet. scarecrow0529 07-24-2005, 01:38 PM is it the white pvc like for plumbing. sierrap615 07-25-2005, 01:29 AM been reading around and i guess PVC is toxic when heated, ABS or exhaust piping are safe alterntives. scarecrow0529 07-25-2005, 06:24 AM yeah i think i will buy some of that flex tubing for exhaust that i can bend it any way i want and it should stay it holds curves pretty well and you can put a filter on the end of it. you would have to be pretty damn lucky to find a piece of exhaust to match what ya need i have looked i couldnt find anything in a 3" tube. ill let ya guys know how the flex tubing works. Hey scarecrow. I was just reading through some posts to get some ideas about making a CAI for my friend who drives a Saturn (I drive a Grand Am) I do have some pictures of my intake i made a couple weeks ago. I used regular PVC from Home Depot and the whole get-up cost me less than 50 dollars, with a filter (go to autozone or advance autoparts for a filter.) If you go here, http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=3458749#post3458749, and scroll down about 2/3 of the way youll see 3 or 4 pictures of mine. Best of luck with your project...let me know how it turns out. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
