Fluid leak underneath 2002batmobile78m 06-28-2005, 09:44 AM Something is leaking down between the oil pan and where the engine attaches to the transaxle. Looks like oil, but don't know. It's not the filter leaking, that's all I know. Any help? thanks GTP Dad 06-28-2005, 06:11 PM The problem is probably one of two things. A bad rear main seal on the engine or a bad front seal on the transmission. Either way the transmission will have to be pulled to fix the problem. You can check it by pulling the dust cover off the bottom of the transmission bell housing and looking in the area with a light. You should see where it is coming from. Neither of the two is not a cheap fix. batmobile78m 06-29-2005, 07:50 PM Went to the dealer today. It's under warranty for one more week. They say it's "normal seepage" from the seal. I say it's a "LEAK". We had a big discussion about, at what point seepage becomes a leak...blah blah. (It's wet to touch but doesn't drip). Anyway, they won't fix it. Another dealer excuse not to fix something. Flatrater 06-29-2005, 09:13 PM Call GM customer assisstance and tell them your story. Also you could have an intake leak which would leak down anround the bell housing and appear as a rear main leaking. batmobile78m 07-07-2005, 09:19 AM Call GM customer assisstance and tell them your story. I bitched to the service manager after I checked the TSB's which specifically warned of leaking intake's. Mechanic should have listened to me when I told him it WAS a leak. Now he's probably in hot water. Just shows you have to push these dealers sometimes to do their jobs. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
