I have a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. The information center on the dash reads:'rear lamp failure".I have changed all the bulbs...stop/tail, directionals ,backup, side marker, lis.plate etc. All the new bulbs work correctly. The bulb sockets were clean. When I start the Jeep, the information center reads out correctly. But...when I step on the brake pedal...The error message is back. Anybody have any ideas ? Should I buy a used information center module from a salvage yard ? Thanks in advance for any help !

Did you check the center mount brake light?

I have this same problem from time to time. Usually happens when the weather is wet in the winter. Have checked all the lamps (because non-working taillights suck) and they all work, so I just ignore it and it goes away after a few days. It doesn't show up in Spring, Summer, Fall, so I've stopped letting it bother me since everything else runs banner.

I should mention that the key to solving the problem was using the bulbs that the owners manual specified.A "LL" for long life following the bulp number is OK. Example:921LL
