Anti-freeze reservoir and AC (semi-long)kendu90 06-26-2005, 01:53 PM What's up all? I had a weird situation happen to me about 2 wks ago. I'll try to be brief: My car was running for about 10 mins. Pulled off on way to Airport. Turned on Defogger and heard a weird noise. kept driving for about 1/2 mile. Got to red light and saw smoke and smelled antifreeze. Turned the car around and parked it. Opened hood and saw antifreeze dripping off manifold. There was also a blotch of wetness on the hood. The antifreeze sprayed out of somewhere when I turned on the defogger. Secondly, there was a hissing sound coming from what i think is the AC Compressor. i put my hand near it and i could feel cool air spraying up from a hole on the right side of this "Compressor". It stopped after about 30 seconds. I left the car their for a week as i was on my way to Vegas. i came back, checked the radiator and the level was fine. The reservoir looked dry though. i have added fluid two or 3 times, but it always looks dry but w/ no evidence of leakage. I was trying to find a 99 galant so i can see if something is missing from under my hood. i haven't found one yet. has anything like this ever happened to anyone. Any advice? mr bishi 06-27-2005, 12:21 PM you need to pressure test your cooling system as it runs under pressure to highten the boiling point. if its something to do with yor air con its a specialists job im afraid vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
