Hello All,
I just bought a '05 Denali with dvd navigation and need a fix if anyone has heard of one. It is a good unit except that you cant use it while in motion (I realize it is a safety feature but my wife would like to use when a passenger). I had a aftermarket Garmin street pilot that you could override this feature and it worked great, has anyone heard of a way to fix this issue?
Thanks,
Rwh61@tampabay.rr.com

You would need to wire a switch into the VSS wire; not the most practical and elegant solution, but the only way since the nav reads the signal from the VSS in order to determine if the vehicle is in motion (greater than 5 mph, I think the threshhold is). You need a switch because you don't really want the nav to not receive the VSS signal--otherwise it would have to totally rely on the GPS signal in order to determine vehicle positioning...which although should be theoretically all you need, there will be times where GPS signal reception may not be optimal.
